On 11th June at the Marriott Zurich HTMi hosted the largest event of the HTMi Semester Events Calendar, the Graduation and Awards Ceremony.

The event was attended by more than 40 nationalities of students, parents, and visiting guests, and broadcasted to over 50 countries worldwide.

HTMi would like to sincerely thank the Pro Vice Chancellor Teaching and Learning, University of Ulster, Prof Denise McAlister, CBE; and the Principal and Vice Chancellor Queen Margaret University, Dr Petra Wend, for presenting the graduation parchments and for delivering memorable graduation speeches. Thanks also goes to leading academics from both universities who attended on stage at the ceremony, including from the University of Ulster Prof Marie McHugh, Dr Una McMahon Beattie, and Mrs Ursula Quinn; and from Queen Margaret University, Prof Russell Rimmer and Prof Joe Goldblatt. We would also like to thank the Academic Advisor to HTMi, Dr John Burgess, for making his traditional closing speech for the graduation ceremony.

During the Awards Ceremony HTMi would like to especially thank the following invited guests for helping present the awards and for addressing the students of HTMi: Prof Joe Goldblatt, CSEP , Executive Director of the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events, Queen Margaret University; Mr Yves Givel, Director of Human Resources at Hyatt International (Europe Africa, and Middle East), Mr Alexander Sell, Deputy General Manager, Ritz Carlton Dubai, and Ms Kyly Tran Executive Club Lounge Manager Meydan Hotel (Jumeirah).

Of course we would like to congratulate all the students graduating , receiving awards, and say well done to those staff receiving awards too.

A special thanks goes to all of those HTMi staff and to the students from the Events, Culinary, Research and Career Centres who jointly organised the event. A special thanks goes to the Master of Ceremonies of the event, Mr Anthony Lack, Events Manager , HTMi.
