The decision I took this year is a decision I knew would change the rest of my life, and only now looking back in the eight weeks that I’m here, do I already see the rewards of being at HTMi .

Now I sit here today in Switzerland with a rye smile thinking about where I was and where I’m now going, it makes me happy. Before joining HTMi, I studied Human Resource Management and could not find work so I entered the tourism industry as part of an airline crew. After eight years of flying I became a Marketing Manager and then an Auditor in Quality Management Systems. I then settled my mind on preparing myself to become a manager in the international hospitality industry.

So now coming to HTMi this year has given me the sense of putting all my knowledge and skills into one“ basket” and making it all come together. Being here at HTMi has makes me understand where my strengths and weaknesses are and where I feel I need to improve to become the best at what I do. This has been a very humbling experience because I have had work experience and now I’m being taught how to do new things correctly and how easily people share things with you and are even willing to help you, these are the things that make one stronger and better as a person and a very good Manager, and it’s also the sense of togetherness which comes through all the time by the students at HTMi.

The teachers and their teaching methodologies are really wonderful, and particularly one thing really astonished me as so much technology is used in class and study and the teachers are very computer savvy. I soon found myself coping due to the teachers’ willingness to assist you and learn from you as a student. Every day after my lectures I feel empowered and confident after a real sense of enjoyment from the lectures, where I end up telling my fellow students? I really enjoyed that lecture” so a big thanks to the lecturers.

So finally I would like to say again that any doubts in myself in venturing into the unknown of trying something new have been removed and I’m happy with the decision that I’ve made by choosing HTMi as my institution of learning and changing my life forever for the better .More importantly when I came here, I came here to bring my country ( South Africa ) to be a part of this world ( HTMi) and now I’m a part of this world forever. So thanks everybody.
